On October 27, 2003, Teresa Heinz Kerry attended a luncheon at Stryker’s Grill in Sioux City, Iowa, where she visited with those supporting her husband Sen. John Kerry’s bid for the 2004 presidential nomination.

Guest Jody Ewing would go on to serve as Sen. Kerry’s county chair, and she and her mother, Hope Thelander, would host another event for Teresa in the Thelander’s home as well as participate in other campaign events with Sen. and Mrs. Kerry.
